The Exmoor Pony Enthusiasts was formed in 2002
for the purpose of promoting the Exmoor Pony throughout North America. While encouraging breeders to stay true to the breed standard as set out by the Exmoor Pony Society of the United Kingdom, the EPE celebrates the enjoyment of individual ponies through hosting an annual FunDay and open communication. Promotion of the Exmoor Pony through various mediums are the primary tools for introducing this unique pony breedto North America. The Exmoor Pony is one of the British Native Pony Breeds. These hardy ponies have been shaped by mother nature for survival over many centuries making them exceptionally easy keepers. Their intelligence, robust nature and natural agility results in a pony ideally suited for riding and driving be it for pleasure or competition. There are less than 100 Exmoors in North America and about 1500 Exmoors in the world. The breed is listed as rare or endangered not only in England, but also by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy of the USA
and by Rare Breeds Canada.
